Built primarily during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods, the temple complex was dedicated to the goddess Isis and features intricate carvings and hieroglyphs on its sandstone walls. The temple was relocated from its original island, Philae, to Agilkia Island in the 1960s to protect it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser following the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Today, the Temple of Philae stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a testament to the enduring legacy of ancient Egypt.

A could of days ago, I visited the Valley of the Whales in Fayoum, Egypt. This ancient landscape, once a bustling ocean, is now a desolate, otherworldly terrain that's sure to capture your imagination. The Valley of the Whales, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a paleontological treasure trove. It's here that scientists have unearthed the remains of numerous prehistoric whales, including the largest whale ever discovered. The sheer size and preservation of these fossils are nothing short of astonishing. The terrain itself is a sight to behold. It kinda reminds me of scenes out of Star wars where Luke Skywalker grew up . As you wander through the valley, you'll be struck by the stark beauty of the landscape. Rolling sand dunes, jagged rock formations, and the occasional oasis create a scene that's both alien and familiar. It's as if the desert has swallowed up a lost world.

Desert life in Egypt is so peaceful..... Except for the demonic desert flies that constantly try to crawl in your mouth. Why were flies even created in the first place?
